Couple Ground Effects Kit Questions

Quick Question... I finally found someone that has the ground effects kit for my car in stock. (Well at least they say they do)

1)What is the skill level needed for putting all this stuff on? Tools?

2)In the pic what are the parts that my arrows are pointing at? I know the front splitter, side rockers, rear diffuser, but what are the other parts.

3)The rear diffuse to me doesn't look any different then what's already on my car. Does the 2SS already come with this same diffuser?

4)If I have to jack the car up (don't have a hoist) can you put the side rocker kits on, or will the jack/jack stands be in the way if you are jacking on the jack block/pinch weld?

I have them on order as a LPO dealer install. You can see this video by LethalGarage which seem to be the same one, but I would confirm if I were you. They are not cheap.

Ahh thx...! Hmmm ya, that kind of looks like a serious PITA! I'd gladly let someone else do that. I also don't know how I feel about drilling all those holes in my rockers... and yes, that looks exactly like the rear diffuser that is already on my car. So buying the entire kit would be pointless. I don't know if a previous owner installed the rear diffuser or if it came stock on my 2SS...

I installed it on my 2021. The front lip and side skirts are a breeze to put on. The rear bumper valance was a royal pain in the you know what.

The diffuser looks like the one that also came with the 2018 Hot Wheels 2SS edition, with the fully closed tip cutouts, it isn't the standard 2SS part.

I did install an aftermarket diffuser that looks better than stock, and indeed it was a process. Not super difficult, no special tools needd either, but very time consuming as the whole rear bumper needs to come off (don't believe youtube videos that say it doesn't, unless you're a Martian with 20" fingers), and it takes a bit of tweaking to achieve the best fitment in a DIY environment.

Side skirts and front splitters can typically be installed without jacking the car up, but the more clearance you make for yourself, the easier.

One other question. I have xpel on my front clip. I know the front diffuser has double sided tape to properly fasten it. Will that tape properly adhere to the xpel or would a guy have to remove the xpel where that tape would adhere?

Honestly, I consider the tape as a gap filler/insulation, not so much structural. The splitter has some 12 bolts holding it to the body through the bumper, that should be plenty even if the tape only adheres to the PPF.

That said, the tape glue will mess up the edge of your Xpel if you ever have to remove the splitter afterwards.

Ya... that is exactly what I was thinking.

I am having the GM kit put on my 2020 tomorrow. The rear diffuser is a gloss black and not a flat black like the one that comes stock. It looked like a pita to me too and it's only 350 bucks to have the dealer do it. the kit is available through this seller. He accepted 750.00 for it and it is brand new in the box. eBay number: 193835411957

Not long after I purchase my 2017 2SS last year, I installed a 1LE front lip spoiler and side skirts. They were both from ACS Composites. Not difficult to install either. All you need are some jack stands, a rivet tool, and a drill and some bits.

Ya, currently the one on my car is gloss black and looks like the one in that kit which leads me to believe the original owner had it changed out or ordered it that way? Either way, all I really need is the front splitter and side skirts to complete the look

Looks to be the gm factory kit they offered. The side skirts are riveted on and they have the cut outs for the jack points, long as you don’t use the biggest jack stand you should be able to install around them.
The part with arrows is part of rear defuser.
I hope this helps
