I don't think I would ever buy one of the regular 350s, but a 350R could be pretty tempting as a track car if it is as fast as it seems it will be.
Nice! I would like to add a GT350 next to my 5th Gen but not that grey one with that wing on the back, Must be the GT350S .

I finally saw it for the first time in person earlier today on display at Barrett Jackson in Palm Beach FL. The Avalanche Gray is a GT350 and the Black is the R version. Both look stunning in live view... my first choice in color would be that cool looking Avalanche but with a different stripe color theme.

Avalanche gray looks white in those pics until that rear end shot. Never would have thought that primer would make a nice color for a car but it works.

The non-R model looks better to me, but that's because I don't see a need for all the excessively functional add-ons.

A nice plain GT350 would work for me. Pumped to see one in person.

I'm not a fan of the looks but waiting to see one in person for final judgment. I'm sure it'll be an awesome performer! Ford does a great job overall with their performance vehicles.

I'm not a fan of the new gen Mustang but the GT350 in person looks a lot better than the standard GT. I'm excited to see the official pricing point and numbers for the GT350R. That Black stripe combo looks pretty cool too.

Looks to me that Ford isnt playing around, ive changed my opinion on the new Mustang after seeing them in person.

Its going to be fast no doubt.

Should definitely be quicker on the straights than the Z/28 but I wonder if it will grip and turn just as hard as the Z/28 does. If so, I'll be very impressed.

The 'R' version on the other hand, I fully expect to be a Z/28 beater.

Props to Ford and such, but I hardly expect the "standard" GT350 to compete with tbe c5 Z/28...

Rumors have the car in the mid 50s, so i expect it to land comfortably between zl1/13-14gt500 times and z/28 times

If the R is as Nasty as everyone expects...assume z/28 performance at a cheaper price, or superior performance at a few grand more.

The regular 350 doesn't have the rubber to compete with Z/28 so I agree with you. Even if it did, I still think the Z would have an edge over the, "normal" 350.

It pains me to keep having this conversation, but at that level of performance, tires are almost always going to be the limiting factor.

Totally forgot about the compound difference between models.

As someone else said, the GT350 ought to be a little quicker in a straight line, probably an 11 second car.
