Why would the drive train be heavier? The 5.2 is NA (no sc of turbo wiring, tubing, or piping), the Tremec 3160 weighs 115lbs(dry) vs the MT-82's 123.5lbs(dry), it'll sadly have the same 2-piece drive shaft (so no loss, but no gain either), and the diff used in all current Mustangs, the "Super 8.8" (9.75" guts in an 8.8" housing) is more than stout enough for GT350 duty.

The other two, wheels/tires and the brakes? Yeah, those will be heavier. How much more is to be seen. I then have to wonder what efforts we're put into action to counter these slight gains. Doesn't seen as though itd have to be all too extreme.

Well I dont think more power equal lighter drivetrain. If everything goes well its gonna be the same weight. Look at the ZL1 VS the SS or Z28: yes tubing, supercharger but bigger rear end, shafts and what not.

I think its gonna weight the same or 50lbs more max. Nothing major.

I think the "specially-reinforced block" may be heavier. Whether they saved any weight with its unique heads and intake and exhaust remains to be seen. They did save some weight with the 3160, and smaller-diameter dual-mass clutch, but the 3160's reduced capacity will limit power-producing mods or may necessitate a swap to the heavier MT-82 or T-6060, depending on power levels sought.

Ford didn't specify which version(s) but they do claim a Curb Weight less than a Base GT (3705, 6-speed?). The MR-equipped versions will gain some weight over the "base" GT350s.

We'll see.

I think they stated they had to modify the 3160 to increase it's durability and power capacity..forget where I read that however.

Listen to Hameedi, above. He states the 3160 is NOT of equal capacity to the 6060. NO MENTION of upgrades.

BTW, SID should have been a little better prepared. It would seem he's a little star-struck @ having a filmed one-on-one with Hameedi, who generally puts his pants on, one leg at a time.
