Orlando Speed World 30 or so minutes away

Orlando Speedworl Dragway runs Friday night Test n Tune, sometimes have Saturday night street events and Sunday events although they don't post until nearer the time.

It's not exactly "close", but it is the closest

Great track though with good prep

Holding pattern as we decided what route we want to take. To be honest the response has been low and right now we would be on the hook for $23760 + tax for unsold rooms at the current response. I am currently not ready to eat that cost as I feel we will only sell approx 50-60 % of the rooms needed each night. Dave and I both feel that even if it was a different weekend the response has been low in general for the Rally. We might need to go a different route and plan an unofficial gathering where we just book a 1 or 2 hotels next to each other and hold a parking lot car show/party.

I think that if a solid date was out there and details were out the more people will lock it in. We will be bringing to cars just need to know a time and place to start blocking out the time.

I can see the issue with upfront costs. If holding it at a hotel parking lot helps save the event, then Im all for it. Even the "small" gathering I went to in Orlando with Mid-Florida Camaros was great fun, and best part that was 100% free for everyone involved (well minus cost of fuel, and food) But it was a pot-luck and everyone had a good time there. I dont see a reason something like that couldnt be setup close to a few local hotels.

Yes the resort is great, it's all in one location. But even with the 1st SSCR, it was at two locations, and everyone had a blast there. Im sure we can all figure something out to get us all together in one place. Thats the part that matters most to me, getting as many people (and cars) together to have a good time.

Just an update progress is being made we are in the process of sorting out some details with the resort I hope to have details on the resort and location in 2-3 weeks
