Sounds like you'll be getting it installed here pretty quick. Spring will bring some new HP to your garage. Hope it all goes well, you have one of the best engine builders in the country so it will be a bad ass ride before long.

You're right about all that, but I think the primary message is that I was thinking that there's no way my OEM short block could last very long at my horsepower levels. So the only thing that I knew was broken was the harmonic balancer when I ordered this new short block. then after the new owner took it apart he found that in a quite a few things going wrong with it. Seized lifter, debris in the oil pan and all cooler lines, thrust bearing looks sketchy etc. I mean these short blocks from Chevrolet are great but they do have their limits.

This new 390 is just a much better engine. Also, solid harmonic balancer this time.

Some of us aren't so lucky! :/ I was much lower on power than you and the thrust took a crap at the track!

Looks good!!! Half the fun is installing these things!

We raced a G stocker when I was 15 years old and I've been a high horsepower Chevrolet guy ever since. I'm retired and very fortunate after working fifty years to be able to spend money on this Camaro

Thanks, I'll give them a call, nothing on their website.
Build looks great, love the black valley, valve and front timing covers.

Thanks. I could chose between billet and black and concluded that black would be easier to maintain

Have you sat the blower on it yet to see how that valley crankcase -12 clears the blower? What are you using to plug the PCV port on the blower floor?

No, but I can ask the shop to confirm that it clears. LME is aware that an E2650 goes on it so I assume they allowed for clearance.

LME just told me "no problem."

The big moment is near. It's back together other than waiting on a new catch can that fits this build. Should fire it up tomorrow.

Do you think I should put a startup tune in it?
