If they actually allowed their engineers to design the vehicle and not worry about what a large portion of the market thought and there was little concern about pricing, we’d have some very different pony cars in our stables. I love both the Mustang and Camaro, having owned several of both. I was convinced that I was done with GM after my first Camaro but, the Mustang failed to capture me; that and the markups on GT350’s ended my search for them. If Ford dealerships hadn’t been trying to price gouge me, I’d have a GT350 in my garage, even knowing that it has build quality issues and isn’t as fast as a 1LE. It’s just a special car to me.

I am not loyal to any brand and in fact the only Chevy I would buy would be the camaro or Corvette. I was shopping for a mustang PP2 and was actually working w a dealer to order a pp2 as soon as orders opened until they released the details. Ended up with the 1LE which is a better package and better value.
Curious why you didnt just go for a ZL1 (with a warranty) instead of adding a SC yourself in the future?

I don't think I could have afforded a ZL1 man. Too much going on right now for me. I got cleared up to 60,000 for a loan, but I didn't want to take on a big payment.

What an amazing car. I've owned a s550 GT and an SS 1LE and they are different worlds. Both cars are great, but that 1LE....
CONGRATULATIONS! I also tried MANY times to buy a GT350, but there is zero chance of me ever paying over sticker for any car. I wont shop at dealers that try it, so most Ford dealers are out (unfortunately). In the end they did me a favor, I bought a ZL1 1LE for less than a GT350 goes for anyway!

You made the right choice, like the rest of us more power is on the table. Hopefully you'll choose a Maggie, I might be just a little partial to the Maggie. What ever you choose have fun.

Great choice! It I were looking for a race and track ready car out of the box it would be the 1LE for sure. Not that the S550 is a bad car, but reading the articles and reviewing the specs the 1LE is way better. The one and only advantage the Mustang has is visibility when driving. I went the opposite- I had a Camaro RS and unfortunately it was my first automatic car ever and I should have got manual. Long story short I now have a S550, base, manual- I got it for a really great price. It's ok and is a nice car- and I get to row the gears and will never, ever take it to the track but I still like the Camaros better.
