I also made 770 with the stock Lt1 on race fuel, I did have Big Bore pump and Lt4 injectors with a little Meth on the side. Went 10.00@139 so the Lt1 is a pretty serious contender as long as you treat it with a little love. Crankcase venting is a critical part of the formula. I ran that on totally stock exhaust also.
Bringing this tread back to life.
So would you just get forged pistons only since the rods are already forged as well?

If you're doing pistons it's a no-brainer to do the rods too. GPI and others have drop in piston/rod combos that have the OEM weights so it's cake to do, and way stronger than stock.
