1LE tires
I am hesitant to switch to any tire besides OEM because I know they are 1LE specific and that is what the engineers designed to go with my car.
But I also know the engineers didn't design my car to be making 550-600hp. Given the increase in power what are your thoughts about switching over to the R888R? She is my daily but I'd really like to have some more straight line traction. |

What tires did the GM engineers put on the ZL1?

And the ZL1 has different suspension/bracing/tunning
so that isn't even close to relevant.

Dont kid yourself, many of those choices come down to price.
You can have pilot sport at $300/each or you can throw on mediocre goodyear super eagle for $200... guess who wins. With that said, love my PS 4S for daily application. Good ride, quiet and plenty of grip.

Straight line traction for what? Street, 1/4 mile, road course?
I loved R888s for track days and street driving (on a different and lower HP car). Great tire. That being said, I like the stock OEM tire. I think it might last longer than the R888 on our heavier cars. |

Actually quite sure that the ZL1 and 1LE are the same suspension spec - both are FE4 I thought. The ZL1 1LE is a different spec from either.

No you're wrong actually, he's right. They might have slightly different spring rates but that's it, and I haven't seen where anyone even confirmed the rates are different.
G3s are a great tire, but if you are only looking for straight line traction on the street get some drag radials. NT555R, NT05R, Toyo TQ... |

There's literally a thread that shows all the part numbers. FE4 suspension = FE4 suspension.

Yes.
The ZL1 and the SS 1LE come stock with the same tires and the same FE4 suspension. The ZL1 1LE uses Goodyears supercar tires, but they're supercar 3R and the sizes are 305/325 rather than 285/305 and it uses a different suspension. I got that right off the Chevy website. |
