Race Render 3 -video w/overlays: alternatives?
I recently bought a Go Pro Hero 10 and started shooting track videos in 4k, Race Render 3 can't seem to handle 4k. Once I add the video to the app I try to sync the video with the telemetry csv from my Aim Solo 2 DL and the playback is so jumpy that it's unusable.
Anybody have another software overlay app they're using? Is Dashware any good? I don't really see another company out there, Harry's seems to do everything right on the phone.... Not what I'm looking for. I could get a smartycam from Aim but they're ridiculously expensive and the resolution is 1080p, I might as well just reduce my resolution and keep using Race Render. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. |

Racerenderer is the best, if you don't have a very powerful computer it might struggle, especially at 4k. Here is one thing to try. When you open racerenderer on the bottom go to settings and change the "PREVIEW PICTURE SIZE" to 640 pixels.
What kind of computer do you have? Racerenderer really is not very optimized. |

I'll try that, thanks. I have my old iracing pc.... I5 7600k @5.1ghz and atleast 16gb of ram, 2080 gpu. Im thinking I'll try it on my sons gaming pc as well, he has an i7 9000 series... Don't know the particulars.
Tried it, made no difference. I thumbed around trying to sync the data to the video without being able to play it back. I think I may have figured a way to atleast sync it so I can render. Rendering now, we'll see how well I did after it finishes. Gotta try the kids pc and see if it's just mine or if the video is just too much for this shitty software. Some of the racerenderer overlays are really bad and induce a lot of choppyness. Start with no overlays and if it's not choppy then add them in 1 by 1 till you figure out which one is locking it.
For my edits I use 1440p and 60fps, I don't have any issues on my main pc. |

1920x1080 is fine for Youtube usage.
There's no reason to go 4k really. Makes editing SO much easier in 1080 too.

Things to try:
1. Update RaceRender. I had a super old version and recently updated to the newest. 2. Try to limit the video duration to a single lap. 3. Create Video>>>Step 3:Balance Speed vs Quality>>>set to "Maximum Scaling Quality." 4. 1080p 30 FPS works fine for Youtube
