ZL1 FRONT SPLITTER MOD

Has anyone fit a ZL1/1LE front splitter onto a regular ZL1? I looked at the exploded view of both cars front pieces , and it appears to bolt right up. I am looking for a little more down force from the ZL1/1LE splitter without putting on the dive planes. This mod will complement a ZL1 rear wing mod i will be doing.....stay tuned for the rear wing mod (a secret for now...lol) Any help is highly welcomed!!

You can add the ZL1 1LE splitter without doing the diveplanes as well, you will however have to add the lower grill from the 1LE as well since the splitter clips into it.

And something tells me you are going with the APR wing that they developed with mounting points that fit the factory holes on the ZL1 trunk?

yes it works - I just put one on. one thing you need to be aware of is the side (vertical) pieces on the 1le has clips that go into the bumper. I did not want to cut into the bumper, so I trimmed off those clips

As others have said, you will need to add the lower grill as well. The splitter attaches to the lower grill. Here are a few pics of mine after the install and one with the bumper off to install the grill.

Has anyone documented the steps to removing the front bumper ? Or any tips at least ?
I’m assuming from what I see above the bumper has to be removed to replace the grill.

Did trimming of the clips, compromise the edge of the splitter to not deflect downward?

Did you have to paint it. All the 1le splitters I've seen look like black primer.

Yes, you will need to paint the splitter mosaic black to match the rest of the trim
