I'm going to say there won't be a Z/28. Either the power train engineers couldn't get a workable engine or GM wouldn't allow the Camaro to have one.

Everything about this car screams Z/28, except for the engine and badge.

That wing is a bit much for me personally in regards to aesthetics & being on the street...now for a dedicated track car?? Whatever works.

I dig the lines of the standard ZL1 myself but think it's pretty dang skippy what GM is pulling out of their hat here...does make me scratch my head more about what the new Z28 will actually be.

EDIT: Just saw another post where this is to be the Z28...so it will not be offered??

I'm guessing there won't be A 6th Gen Z/28 now.

Some quick observations:
- Could be the angles; but it looks like the rear quarters are flared to accommodate the massive rear tires.
- I like the separate handling package; but not the name. It's a mouthful and too confusing.
- I like the weight loss and wheels.
- Interesting for a hard core track package there isn't an A10 option considering how much GM has been touting it as the be all, end all of transmissions and so much faster than the manual.

Would like a good look at the wheels. Video isn't very clear.

Wouldn't it had made sense to update my thread over closing it?

Love it, looks awesome and all that new equipment is sweet. But.... HATE the name haha should have called it ZL1.R or something like that. I understand the whole "giving the ZL1 the 1LE treatment" but I think they should have kept the names separate. All the noobs are going to be really confused now haha my car already gets mistaken for a ZL1 at C&C.

Nevertheless awesome car, I just hope this doesn't mean there won't be a Z/28 this generation.

Resale of the early adopter ZL1 6spd cars just shit the bed. That's pretty annoying.

Also a bit confused that the 10spd isn't offered. I wonder if that will come after the LCI versions of the car debut to pick interest back up.

It could also be that the 10 spd just isn't as good as they thought, and maybe they are looking at a nice dual clutch to go with it!

The original link has been updated with more photos and a clear look at the wheels.

I would NOT want to drive on those tires in the rain

A new model will almost certainly devalue the regular ZL1s, and most folks, including myself, haven’t even taken delivery yet.

I guess the old adage of a car losing value the minute it’s driven off the lot needs updated to account for major depreciation while you wait multiple months for GM to fulfill your order.

Will the 1LE option for the SS be discontinued? Another thought on the suspension name they should have called it the F41 package. Taken from the 3rd gen.
