Can anyone tell if this has a similar hood style to the new CTS-V?

I'm thinking HOOD looks very close to CTS-V, so i'm with you.

Hmm, more rounded than the CTSV hood, per the 1st pic on the ring above...

Odd shape, that's for sure.

I think it looks very aggressive - I think when you see one in person you'll be very scared.

Also, a note to GM - I love that you are providing us this exciting news, but between yesterday and today - how do you expect us to get any work done????

And the photog needs a polarizer, those reflections on the glass are too much to see what's inside! --kC

Having an intercooler in the grill wouldn't make sense if this has the LT4 where the intercooler is on top of the engine. Based on the shape of the hood the LT4 is still a possibility. That heat exchanger in the grill is something else.

Interpreting the data

Curious where you are getting 650 HP from. I wouldn't expect it to weigh that much more than the 2SS. The way I read the numbers is 6.46 lbs/hp times HPSIX (600 HP) = 3876 lbs (which is amazing IMO).

Agree on the 0-62 MPH data.

The Z28 may be LT4 powered. They don't have anything else as of yet.

LT4 makes 650 hp. HP was the internal code name for the 5th gen Z28. So HPSix could mean 6th gen Z28.

Gotcha. I had forgot about the Z28 code name "HP". Still, 4200 lbs seems like a lot of weight for a new gen Z28, no? Didn't the last gen weigh less than the SS?

2015 Z28 - 3820 lbs
2015 SS 1LE - 3860 lbs
2015 ZL1 - 4120

A 600HP beast at 3876 lbs (or less) sounds more in line with their progression model. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I like the hood but the 5th Gen ZL1 is going to be a hard act follow body style and performance wise.

The 5th Gen ZL1 is made to take a beating with a tough drive train. Don't think the 6th will do as well do to the lighter drive line components they use to save weight.

Hopefully they put the LT4 or something new... LSA 2.0 in the new ZL1 or Z/28 with at least 650+ hp. Anything less will be a disappointment.

You don't get that light weight if it's loaded. Peopled complained the current Z/28 is too stripped out and they will complain the next one is too heavy.
