SS 1LE Ring Lap Time?
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...12#post9936012
So the forum has a new ask Al section and I am submitting that we ask him what times the SS 1LE was running on the ring in testing. Lets all create some traffic on the thread and see if we can get it the most votes for next months question that will be sent to Al. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious.

Is that video evidence that the 5th gen ZL1 wheels fit well on the 6th gen?

Yes, count me in. I'd definitely like to know the SS 1LE's best time around the 'ring to see where it falls in the rankings. Please, Al, let us know!

I'm betting VIR is a good proxy since it's a long course, Z/28 wins by a good 8-10 seconds putting the 1LE into the mid to high 7:4x

Lightning Lap is nowhere near realiable lap times to me. They use tons of different drivers of different skill levels. You know GM has top tier test drivers and even Motor Trend uses Pro Racer Randy Pobst to set their times. Look at Motor Trend Best Drivers Car times and Lightning Lap. Motor Trends at least make logical sense. Sometimes lightning lap results seem way out of whack.

I would expect the 1LE to be a little slower than the Z/28, but within about 5 seconds or so.

SS 1LE was within tenths of a second of a Porsche GT4 at numerous racetracks around the world, and the official GT4 ring time is 7:40. That said, Porsche is pretty conservative in their ring times, and a few journalists have done sub 7:40’s in GT4’s. I’d guess SS 1LE would be very low 7:40’s to high 7:30’s if driven in anger like Bill Wise drove the ZL1-1LE. |
