The 2SS 1LE is a lot cheaper than the ZL1, but it I sure think it is bumping too close to the GT350. You gotta hate Ford to not cross shop the GT350 once you are considering a 2SS 1LE.

Then I would take the Shelby if price was same.

A GT350 starts at $58k, $61k if you want the convenience package. If you want Recaros, they're still cloth/suede and you can't get the convenience package. So it's going to be $10k more than a comparable 2SS 1LE.

Around here a slightly used GT350 with 5k miles or less are going for $52k w/the tech package, which puts it in the 2ss 1LE range. Yes its used by barely

But you're still comparing a used car to a new one. That's not apples to apples.

How much would a slightly used 2SS 1LE go for?

Given the nature of the cockpit and viewing angles for some based on driving position? Very useful.. While I'm not staring at mine, I do like the amber light that comes on. It's a nice secondary reminder of lane presence.

I'm comparing performance to performance. At 5k miles or less you're still pretty new. There are a few features that the 2SS comes with that isn't on the Ford, but not many. The performance is near equal enough and i wouldnt squable about 5k miles.... 10 to 15 then OK.

What would be missing on the Ford I, myself, don't need.

Well, then compare a used 2SS 1LE(when avail) with a used GT350. Also, considering the previous post mentioned a tech pack car(pre-2017), the performance is NOT the same. The GT350 will be limping through lap 2, while the 1LE still performs as it did on lap 1.

Dont get me wrong, I agree with your thinking and would also prefer a GT350 over a 2SS 1LE. Don't kid yourself that price is the same or similar though. GT350's hold their value VERY well. The 2SS 1LE will likely lose a greater % of its retail value than the 1SS version does. You will always be able to save around $10K on a 2SS 1LE when compared to a COMPARABLE GT350.

I was just referring to the buy in. But yes, the depreciation on the 2SS is/will be greater

I thought it was important until I got a 1LE. Now I realize I never needed it.

Why didn't you need it, explain?

Sorry if that appears anal. I'm just trying to compare the 1SS and the 2SS. Do I really need the 2SS upgrade. In San Diego I could care less about heated or cooled seats and steering wheel (well maybe the steering wheel after its been sitting in the sun, lol). It seems the one feature that is advantageous is the Side Blind Zone Alert.
