It's $1795 on the Vette, so I'm sure the Camaro discount will get it somewhere between those two numbers.

I had kind of initially wanted a 1LE then brushed it off due to thinking why buy a track capable Camaro if I don't really track it. But, I gotta admit I love the looks and especially the wheels and all of the cool features it comes with.

I know opinions vary on cost of the 1LE package, but personally I don't see it costing any more than a 2SS, or right about $5K. Will it be more? It might be, but if Al O's statement on its affordability is true, I have a hard time thinking it would exceed $5-6K. If I can get a 1LE for the same cost as a 2SS I'll very seriously consider it, much more and I'll probably just stick with a 1SS.

If we can get all the features the 1LE offers for ~$5K, that would be a steal.

Even at $7K its a steal. A 1LE for $45k sounds about right.

Agreed. If you plan to track the car you would wind up spending more than $7k on "track stuff" to turn a 1SS into a 1LE and you probably can't even add things like E-Diff and MRC after the fact. As a previous 1LE owner my advice is if you track the car then get the 1LE, if not then get the 1SS/2SS with MRC. The new SS handles very different than the Gen5 and should keep most folks more than happy on the street and even the back roads.

If you just love the cosmetics of the 1LE package then you can add the wheels and wrap the hood, paint the calipers, etc.

Just curious here. I plan to get the 1LE only because of some of the features included. I am not going to track such an expensive car considering I am already stretching to even get one.

I just want MRC, HUD and NPP on 1SS M6. HUD is not an option on 1SS and the rest already cost ~$2500. So, if I can get the 1LE package for $5K, then I won't mind considering I'll be getting recaros and e-diff. But yeah, I neither need them nor am I gonna be driving the car to its potential for any of these to even matter.

In your scenario it sounds like the 1LE may be worth it to you since you are only really after the MRC and NPP. For some folks they will compare the 1LE in the $45k range to a 2SS in the $45k range. Then you have to consider if you want to give up the creature comfort stuff like Bose stereo, leather ventilated and heated seats, blind spot monitor memory seats, heated steering wheel, dual zone AC, etc. The argument for many is that they will make use the ventilated seats and Bose stereo more than they will an E-diff, assuming you don't really plan to track the car.

There are also many folks here that would gladly pay $50k for a 2SS 1LE if they would offer one. Creature comforts and track pack, which is what I had in my GEN 5 2SS 1LE.

So if I can get the 1SS 1LE for anything less than 2SS + MRC + NPP, then 1LE makes more sense.

That would be to high for a 1LE (for my needs). Then it wouldn't make sense to get a 1LE for my needs. Only if it costs the same as a 2SS, then I make a choice between performance and creature comforts.

As a plan B,
If its much more than that, I think I'd seriously consider waiting till the end of the year and getting a deal on a left over 2016 automatic 1SS with NPP and mag ride for about $35,000 to $37,000. Hopefully one day I could upgrade to the 1LE suspension package when it becomes available and put on better tires.

The traffic in San Diego is horrible, as much as I want this car, it would probably be a pain to commute 2 hours a day in stop and go traffic with a manual. But on the bright side, I wouldn't have to work out my left leg at the gym anymore. I'll be pushing in the clutch 400 times a day.
2 hours a day in any 6th gen Camaro SS isn't work or a pain, it's therapy

Agreed, the clutch in traffic gets old pretty quick. For a weekend car, I prefer the manual but for a daily driver that deals with heavy traffic all the time this A8 is awesome.

By the way, it will probably be tough to find a 1SS with MRC laying around. Usually, MRC winds up on a 2SS unless someone orders it specifically for a 1SS.
