Carfax Question
Can someone tell me why in the carfax I see one owner but I see multiple buy and sell transaction in the report?
Planning to see the car but kind of scared that something is wrong with it when reading the carfax. https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...&partner=DON_0 Its a 2017 2SS model. |

Carfax only considers initial registrations by a private party as owners. Transfers to different dealers don't count. It could be that a dealer used it as a rental or test mule or something. The important thing is to look at the mileages recorded at each record

Would that have made me run away from the car? No but I sure would have haggle the price a lot harder. If you are buying from a GM dealer, ask to see the print out of work completed under warranty. If you have enough time to wait, take the VIN to a local GM dealer and ask them if they can run the report for you. That's how I found out my pump was replaced. I was getting ready to replace it on my own to prevent being stranded. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk

Carfax Question
Yeah it did alot of sitting and if a dealer doesn’t sell in a while the will tend to sell it in auctions or to other dealers.
If you like it and it drives well buy it and change all the fluids. What are tge asking for it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As long as the warranty is in place I wouldn't worry.
My Zl1 bounced around Ohio/Illinois then to Tampa where I bought it from at a good price. I confirmed warranty was still good.

Pretty much. My 2010, I scrubbed a guardrail when a pickup came around a blind corner wide while towing a boat. $5k+ in damage, full uniside replacement. Never showed up on history reports at trade-in.

Go check it out and buy if you like it. At least it has a warranty period with it being a certified preowned GM vehicle. Like was replied, take the vin to the Service Manager there at the dealer so they can run it in the system to ease your concerns. Good luck.

CarFax is Not Perfect
I'm retired from GM and used to be the Cadillac Sales Manager for the Carolinas. I received a call from one of my dealers, a customer of theirs wanted to trade in their first gen CTS-V. The CarFax indicated the car was involved in a rollover accident on the interstate. The customer was understandably more than upset. I did a little investigating and found that the customer's car was on display at the Greenville auto show when the CarFax report said it was totaled. Someone fat fingered the vin. The dealers have a way to have errors like this corrected.
