Every ZLE I’ve been calling about in transit has been sold. I’ve been looking every couple of days and pouncing on new ones showing up. Still sold :(

This leads me to conclude, those that have been waiting a significant amount of time, is not GM. It is the dealer.b
It’s a GM issue. Any dealer should be able to order a Camaro whether they are big or small, a high volume Camaro dealer or one that sells one Camaro a year. They should also have their orders accepted and scheduled for production in a timely fashion unless there are any supply issues. Instead GM focuses on high volume Camaro dealers for dealer inventory and sold orders at those dealers in my opinion. Sold orders should be given number one priority as everyone gets paid sooner and it translates into happier customers. My wife has been waiting for over 8.5 months for her car with no change in order status in the past 3.5 months. In the meantime, lots of people have ordered there cars much more recently and have already taken delivery. It’s a very frustrating process.

I ordered a 2022 Genesis G80 Sport Plus AWD as a daily driver for myself on Dec 21st and my dealer says it will be built in January in South Korea and delivered in February. If that happens, it shows how flawed GM’s order/production scheduling process is.

Out of the American makers it seems GM (followed closely by Ford) have taken the worst beating due to horrible supply chain decision making. I have a relative that works at a jeep plant. At one point they were the only plant making sellable vehicles. (Ford lovers have to point out that they never shut down Kansas super duty plant, but they didn’t have chips and were just making bricks to fill a parking lot)

I ordered a new ram 2500 two weeks ago. Just like the old days. No constraints, VIN in a week and delivery shortly. 1500’s I think you can get pretty much in a week or two. At least in MI.

My dealership insists that they have the ear of their "regional guy" and sometimes he'll give them an allocation for a new build. I'll find out if he's feeding me a line if his claimed 8 week (7 as of this week) delivery comes to fruition. I ordered without the PDR, so we'll see if that helps move things along.

It would need to be accepted by GM already to be able to meet that timeline in all likelihood.

Eight weeks does seem like the amount of time it would take to have it built and shipped, so we'll see if he's shooting straight with me. He did claim it was at status 3300 last week, so at least there's that.

You're probably in the same TPW as me. I'll be happy if I get my car by mid-Feb.

Regardless, I hope it's true!

We have to count our blessings. Imagine living in an area that is going to be frigid around the time of delivery and having to wait until the roads are decent enough to take our toys out to play with.

The whole reason I'm buying my car right now: I simply don't need my truck at the moment at all, and I can afford to lose it until the Electric Silverado debuts.

I have a full sized truck that I may wind up trading in instead of my SS. I'm thinking it will really trip up my salesman if he tries something funny as I'll have more money offsetting the ZL1's price than if I traded my SS. The only thing is that I know he really wants my SS sedan as a service advisor asked me to tell her what salesman I'm working with if I trade the SS in. The salesman claims that if I know of someone that agrees to a price, for $1000 he can get the paperwork handled so that my trade-in will go towards dropping my tax liability for the amount of the sale (less the $1000). I figure it's not too bad an offer even though $1000 for them to process the change of title seems kind of high.

Jesus that sounds like a lot of work. If I'm dealing with a dealership that I question will screw me over in the end, I probably would find another dealership to work with. I get that not everyone has that luxury, but having worked at a dealership years ago, I have never really had issues finding a respectable salesmen/dealership...

Its a shame you even have to deal with that annoyance.

I told the salesman my history with his dealership, from their bodyshop abusing a vehicle of mine that I took in for a door ding to one of their salesmen being a little aggressive with my GM discounts when I used to work for GM. I'm hoping that he's trying to shoot straight with me given my history. Also hoping that he'll understand that I've purchased at least 6 vehicles in the past 3 years and is looking to make a customer for life. We'll see.
