Question for ZL1 1LE track rats
If you track your 1LE on road courses - what alignment settings have you tried, and what PTM setting do you use - Sport 1,2 or Race. What differences have you seen in either track times or handling?

I intend on getting the alignment settings GM suggests. Interested in the thread myself.

So far I've used the alternate setting of -2.7(f) and -2.0(r) and have kept it set there. Last HPDE I did run in Track w/SPORT1. I'll move into SPORT2 and upward over time. I honestly don't think unless you would see much of an increase unless you are truly in the more advanced HPDE groups. (When I watch the vids of people running into Track/RACE, not all but many, they are not very smooth and sawing the life out of the steering wheel, basically on the edge of a critical driver error and loss of car). I have started the tire pressures at 29, but will run with a starting 28 next event to hit that 35PSI sweet spot when warm.

I run in Advanced and use Sport 2 or Race, depending on the track. Big fast, more open tracks = Race, smaller tighter, less run off (and more concrete walls!) tracks typically Sport 2. Sport 1 keeps StabiliTrak engaged so I try to avoid that now after some seat time in the car and on familiar tracks as Sport 1 and StabiliTrak can burn up your rear pads trying to counteract aggressive cornering and IMO is a bit too much control. I'll get between 25 - 28 track days in this year...wish it were more....but here in the Midwest the season is fairly short and I need to head to Road Atlanta, COTA, etc to extend it. I see you're in the Midwest. Hope to see you at a track sometime soon! PM me if you'd like my schedule or have any other Q's. Have fun on the track!!

I don't have a 1LE so I apologize if I bring no value here. I do have GM track settings on my ZL1 and I run my PTM on Race. When I ran it in any other mode it was intervening in corners when it shouldn't have been and started to cook my brakes a little. When I put it in race my brakes only got their "normal" spongy when I'm running it hard at the track and my lap times decreased significantly.

A 1LE car will allow -2.7 front setting as the camber plates are adjustable on those cars. Run Sport 1 on the PTM until you get the feel for this beast. Move up to Sport 2 & Race once you get settled and understand the handling dynamics better. Track time differences are difficult to gauge from settings alone. Make sure you start with a reasonable tire pressure makes some of the biggest differences. Some people start way too high and the tires get greasy. Try 28psi cold and work from there.

-3.0 front, -1.8 rear, 0 toe both. Sport 2 or race.

I started with the track alignment as well and started with sport 1 to get comfortable with the car. I'm ready to move up to sport 2 as it's starting to kick in more and more.

When going to track alignment did you have alignment checked afterward?
Wondering if alignment was off from the factory? Thinking about doing track setup myself then take to an alignment shop to be sure. |

Significant difference on TOE when the front is set to TRACK. (In-fact the whole car really needed a proper alignment even w/o the front change. The settings were not good at all from the factory)
