This is exactly how I feel. And that goes for Mustangs, Challengers, Camaros, Vettes, and any other car out there. You're basically taking someone's word that their car is stock or this or that. So I don't put much faith in that because I have seen people at the track flat out lie about they had done to their car.

This is how the real world works. We don't race magazine reviews. It's always a run what ya brung situation. How one model stacks up against another in those pages doesn't mean anything when comparing your car vs the car in the next lane.

I'm only responding to this post because his one pass (without seeing an actual timeslip) is almost identical to mine almost 2 full years ago. I did take out a front seat, but he modified his exhaust so I would say similarly modded.

Your pass was in significantly better d/a also... a great run nonetheless.

those would be disadvantages, but you have all those low end torks and every real racer knows thats where its at

It's not nice to kick puppies either.

I understand that too. But how a car performs when bone stock does matter to people who want the best or the better car but don't want to or can't afford to mod. Not everyone goes to the track or gets into a situation where you're racing someone who might be modded. So if someone wants the better performing car between, let's say, a 17 GT and a 17 SS, well the 17 SS would without a doubt be the best way to go. If someone wants to get a car that they're gonna tear down and build up from the tires to the hood, then a base GT would be better.

I still wanna know how many bone stock unmodded unaltered S550 Mustangs can hit 11.8 and trap over 120 MPH in the quarter. But I guess you're not answering that...

If the conditions are right any A10 , 3.55 PS4S car should be able to run that E.T and very close to that mph with a good driver.

So that's a "no" then. Thanks.

actually it's a yes imo. While nobody has gone 11.8@120+ yet, there have been guys who have gotten very close in far from ideal d/a. Lets revisit this question after the fall/winter months.

what's the relevance of those particular figures anyway?

No I'm not talking about doing it in perfect conditions with a 20 MPH tailwind while going downhill and in a Mustang with A10 and specific gears and specific modes or whatever. I asked if there is a S550 Mustang that can go 11.8 AND trap over 120 MPH in the quarter mile bone stock with nothing changed, modded, or altered. And the answer is no.
