I like my C7 Z51 M7, too bad it was flooded. If I have more money, I would like a GS or Z06.
Porsche Cayman GT4 is pretty sick as well, along with its bigger cousin 911 GT3. In stick shift, of course. If money is no object, the T50 will be sick. It's just getting harder and harder to get the NA + manual trans combo nowadays. Don't give a rat's ass about being the drag strip king, just want to have fun with a manual trans.

Cayman GT4, if prices ever come down... maybe used C8 in a few years.

Nice examples are starting to appreciate, though. 3rd gen (2006-2015) is a completely different car than the first two, and prices are still dropping. IMHO, this is the best choice currently for a track car, and what I would buy if I were starting a track car build now. More power, and can use more tire than the first two generations. Lots of track parts starting to come on line for these. We're pretty invested in a 1992 that we use as an HPDE/TT car. These really are great track cars... fun to drive and cheap consumables.

Only 2. 19 ZR1. And my 67 camaro back. Not quite the triple threat the 17 ZL1 is but was great at double duty. 10.0 in the qtr like clock work, change to my track tires/wheels and adjust shock settings, boom. Top 3 in advanced class.
Current owner is in Australia so no chance of a buyback. But he's still enjoying the car. Yay! |

Honestly, cars much cheaper than my Camaro SS. 91-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R, 2009 Cobalt SS turbo sedan, 2021 Hyundai Elantra N manual to name a few.
