I’ll put in a PM to Katech_Mike and see what he says…
Josh... let me know what Mike says as I have not put mine on yet (sitting in garage)- same as you... Katech 112 mm TB
(I still have my Soler Perf. 95mm TB on ATM, but Whipple had an adapter that worked for that one? (see pic)

Adam, the Whipple supplied adapter will let you run any LT1/4 TB with the Whipple. The 95mm is very close and can be made to work as well. But the 112mm is MUCH bigger and the bolt pattern is very different. It required a custom adapter on my 2.9 but the 3.0 is different from that as well.

OK.. let me know what Mike says, as Katech told me the 112TB would work with the Whipple 3.0, so that is why I bought it. The 120TB they sell said it would need an adapter to fit the Whipple.

Katech doesn’t know lol…I just heard back from Mike and he thought it should fit. The snout opening is not the issue, to be clear for others who read this later. The Katech/NW 112mm TB bolt pattern is huge and cannot just bolt up to the blower. It’s going to need an adapter.

Just sent an email into Greg @ Kong Performance to see if he has anything.

Edit: Kong doesn’t have anything either.

I went and measured the Whipple 3.0L bolt pattern after Josh's PM and it's different than any LS/LT bolt pattern. So no standard adaptors will work. Why they did that is beyond me.

I assumed the pattern in the snout was the 112mm/120mm and the included adaptor reduced down to the OEM/103mm bolt pattern. That would just make too much sense. Shame on me for assuming.

I'll have engineering lay it out in CAD and see if I can redrill some of the other 112mm adaptors that we have on the shelf. If not we will have to make a new adaptor specifically for the Whipple 3.0L and 112mm throttle body.

Awesome, thanks again Mike. Please let us know as soon as you can. I’ll take one off your hands immediately. I believe Adam and Norm from this thread will need the adapter too.

Makes me wonder if Whipple will offer their own large throttle body at some point. I like their coyote offerings. A larger throttle bodied, cooler running twin screw, that is more efficient, with less drag than a roots is enticing. It’s gonna be fun to see where these blowers go

Yeah I'm clueless as to why they would use the bolt pattern that they did.

The other interesting thing is the fact that they advertise the snout opening as 120mm as well as fitting 120mm throttle bodies when the snout actually measures just under 112mm's.

That's surprising. I know the gains from the 112 to 120mm on the 2650 wasn't huge, but if going for max effort everything adds up. Perhaps the Whipple won't need it.

I will take one Mike when you have an adapter done as well
Note: the guy from Whipple told me they only test fit their TB on the 3.0 and could not verify any other TB so I called Katech and bought the 112TB

Out of curiosity, would the bolt pattern between the 112mm and 120mm TBs be the same? I’m assuming Katech could easily make the same adapter plate, but with a 120mm opening.

I’m not worried about opening up the Whipple snout to 120mm…easy peasy and the snout is well designed…very wide open right to the rotor pack.

Looking to upgrade to the 120mm TB?
