Magnuson TVS2650 Camaro
SO if you happened to be at SEMA, you might have already had a chance to check out the latest mods to the Camaro, but if not, I'll share some details of this interesting ride as it's finally back in my hands for tuning and even better yet - Track Testing
So, it is a Magnuson TVS2650 and it's essentially the truck kit that Magnuson will be releasing shortly for LT and LS engines. An under-hood version of the TVS2650 will release in mid 2018 for the LT and LS versions (Corvette and Camaro). Magnuson was looking for something a bit different for SEMA this year and fitting this TVS 2650 (thru the hood) kit to the car carries a bit of nostalgia feel along with an abundance of modern tech. It hit the mark for exactly what Magnuson was looking to share at the show. This particular kit that is on the Camaro has a Stage II SC capable of 2500 CFM and is fed with a Dual Throttle Body manifold. The throttle bodies on the car are ported stock units, but a pair of 103mm units will fit if we happen to approach the limit of these 2 - 89mm ported pieces. The driver's side blade is controlled by the factory ECU, it has the primary duty of air control from idle to 75% opening. At 75% the secondary throttle begins to open and then both throttles reach 100% open at the same time. This progressive system allows for the fine idle control and driveability of the stock throttle body, yet peak flow comparable to a 125mm throttle (not to mention that it looks pretty cool). Secondary throttle controller was designed by Magnuson and pulls it's signals directly from the vehicle's CAN-bus. Two MAF meters are also used with a diameter of 105mm each. They are custom machined, flowed, and blended together with a MAF Fusion controller that is currently under development. This controller allows the use of two MAF meters, input a transfer function for each meter, then also control the output transfer function from the controller to the ECU. It's a handy device which also has another GREAT feature: It has the ability to control additional multiport injectors! On this setup we are running an additional 8 - 65lb/hr multiport injectors. We are able to pickup the engine speed signal directly off of the vehicle CAN-bus and since the MAF signals are already travelling through this controller we are using them for load calculations (a MAP sensor can be used if preferred). This jackshaft SC kit uses a carbon fiber driveshaft inside of an aluminum tube to transfer power to the rear cog belt system which can be configured for anything from a 30% underdrive to a 30% overdrive. It's currently configured with 1:1 ratio in the rear and with the 70mm front pulley the TVS 2650 is delivering an easy ~ 18psi to this 416 ci engine. Intercooler development for all Magnuson TVS2650 kits has been extensive. This particular kit features a 5" x 4" x 13" high density brick which has a minimum intercooler effectiveness of 85%. Continual improvement of intercooler cores necessitates additional water flow and heat rejection so -16 lines and fittings are standard for Magnuson TVS2650 intercoolers. On this particular car, the standard Magnuson low temp front mount radiator has been upgraded from a 20mm thick core to a 42mm thick core along with a 3 gallon reserve tank mounted in the location of the factory airbox which is no longer used. All of this was the result of a months worth long days and late nights by a crew of really, really, sharp people. I can't wait to get comfortable with the new system, get the dyno tuning finished, and hit the track with this thing to see what it's capable of (or what breaks next) in the next couple weeks! I'll keep you posted...

Wow, this new 2650 is brilliant and it was a real hustle to get it machined and ready for SEMA. Mike and the team knocked it out of the park on this one. Its gonna make huge HP and Torque plus it looks wicked. Awesome job guys and its great to be part of the Magnuson Team.

I really like the combination of cutting edge tech with the old school/retro look. A hat tip to Mike and the Maggie team.

Can't wait to see what the 2650 under the hood kit provides! This was a fantastic hit at SEMA though.

The videos of this thing running knocked it out of the park on Instagram... Bad Ass nostalgia meets modern day engineering

Yes it will run 8's. Should be 1100 hp at least

Thanks, couldn't believe the views myself, it went over a million views on facebook in only 3 days, certainly didn't expect that.

It made 875RWHP with the TVS2300 which was enough power to run 8s (the car went 9.93 with 730RWHP). We will need more chassis/suspension work to get there though.
The 2650 will move enough air to squeeze into the 7s, building an engine/driveline/chassis/suspension to actually realize those levels of performance is a different story. I will say I'm looking forward to the challenge...

I killed some secondary throttle bodies when I tested the progressive approach years ago. It is not recommended to hold a constant position.
What is the static comp on the 416?
