well everyone, sorry for the delay and thank you for all your input.. Finally got a track after installing the reservoir and we are back to normal... the coolant issues must have been the problem, and the reservoir must have done exactly what we were talking about... I consider it problem solved... but if something similar comes up, I will chime back in

A few questions: Is the theory that air got into the intercooler lines after leaving the factory, or is the theory that the lines were not bled correctly by the factory? I have a '21 ZL1 on order (scheduled for production the first week of Feb.), and want to know if I need to check and bleed the lines of air myself after I receive the car, or if I can trust the factory actually does it properly?

I would second that... I think its really a great idea to get the reservoir which I was planning on getting anyway, this even just reinforced the need for one...

In any case, you can get a fitting to DIY the factory style bleed, and it's cheap. The reservoir is more expensive, but it makes the process even quicker than checking the oil. |

Well the timing of this thread just got interesting for me. I was in my garage watching the hockey game having a beer. I thought I’d pop the hood to admire what’s under it.
WTF!!!! My lower coolant chamber is EMPTY!!!. Once the weather clears I’m gonna have to pull the car out to look for a leak. I don’t see anything right now but I also don’t think it’s been cold enough for the coolant to shrink the level that much. Maybe this is a sign I’m gonna have to order the V2. I’m trying to look on the bright side here. |
