Zl1 limp mode
Hi
I was wondering has any had this happen to their Zl1? I just bought the car used and have driven it 500 miles so far. I have Just been driving it to work and back. The car Has 27k miles and has been running great. On my way home today i pass a car on a 2 lane road with easy. But 5 mins later while passing another car it just had no power. It was stuck in the 75 mph range. All my gauges seemed fine except the boost gauge was fluttering.i can’t seem to find the exact issue to my problem only about the ZO6. Any information about this would be great. Also everything is stock on the car. Thanks |

The SC coolant system may need to be bled. A number of guys have added an aftermarket SC coolant reservoir to eliminate cavitation issues which in turn can cause the problem you’re experiencing.

No check engine light. I will Have code reader tomorrow. Only difference that I did when this happened i was in track mode, have been in sport the past week. Also I put my NPP fuse back in tonight. I Will see that corrects the problem.

So i put the NPP fuse back in before my drive to work today. It seemed to solve the limp mode problem. i could not replicate the problem in track mode. i also pulled 0 codes on the code reader.
i also noticed like others have said, i did not notice a sound difference with the NPP fuse back in. side note: 2020 M5 was behind me on the prowl. But i decide to turn on my subdivision and go home, and not race that beast! lol |

Glad you got it fixed. That’s weird that the fuse fixed it. I’ve had mine pulled since I bought the car with non issues. I even replaced the axleback, capped off the wiring leads and never put the fuse back in. Still no issues. I’ll keep this in mind if I ever have your issue.

Day one till I traded it in. I had 0 issues. Hopefully this was just a isolated incident. |
