You have it backwards. The systems that deletes/removes the secondary cats is the one that requires no welds. That would be 60609.

60610 keeps the secondary cats which will require cutting right after them and welding 60610 in place.

Got the Cats deleted friday after work and I love it!!! The shop had a flexible head welder and did a very good job! I have no CEL's and I love the bump in volume. It's perfect for me. I leave the fuse in and the wife greatly appreciates me starting it up in stealth mode.

I strongly recommend this mod to anyone who wants to slightly increase the volume of the exhaust but still retain the ability to use stealth mode.

I think this makes the car about as loud as a typical cat back system for much less money and retains a very quiet stealth mode.

Very nice to hear!!! I am looking to get mine deleted over the next few days. Does any of you here have some before and after photos of the install? Just wanted to see so i know how it should come out when the shop does mine for me...

If the shop uses a sawzall to cut off the secondary cat then it is almost a straight shot with the new pipe to replace the cats and then weld it in. The welding will be a little tight on the top side, but it is doable.

The secondary cats are unmonitored so you will not get a check engine light removing them.

Had mine removed today from a friend who recommended a shop near me that is right across the street from Citi Field for those that are familiar with the area. Thanks for all the insight on this page. So far it sounds better and no CEL so i am a satisfied customer! Total time was about 30 minutes. Went with a 3" pipe as there are no 2.75's in sight. No loss of power feel at all and definitely a great inexpensive mod for those looking a bit more sound out of their exhaust for sure.

In theory yes, but the primary cat monitors will be relatively close to the welds for the cat delete pipes. A bad weld there will allow faulty readings and trip the check engine light. It has happened to others. After watching my shop do the install I would almost caution anyone who tries to get a shop with a non flex head welder to do the install. I think its asking for bad welds.

I don't want to thread jack but this is closely related to what i have planned and the forum search gives me an error page...
does anyone know what type of metal our exhaust is made of? and to confirm, it is 2.75" OD?
I am doing a muffler and secondary delete with v-band flanges so that they can be swapped to stock config. easily. So if someone could verify before i pull the gun on buying 304SS mandrel tubing and flanges... if its aluminized i could make this project a lot cheaper

Depends on if your state follows the California C.A.R.B. smog program or not.

Stock width is 2.75? You used 3 and sleeved it over the stock?
