The “why I got the 1 le option”

Just curious as to why you ordered/bought the camaro with the 1 Le option...

I will break the ice on this one. Did not buy a 1LE but lord knows I wanted to hence the user name. $10K+ price difference, settled for the LT1 instead.

Better wheels, better cooling, better handling, I liked the appearance and got it new out the door for just over $41k.

Love the handling and the looks. Will take the car on a road coarse track. Also did the math and couldn’t pass on the $7,000 deal with the package.

I bought it new when they couldn't give them away for $39.5. It was and still is the best bang for the buck. I love the looks and the fact that I can run it as hard as I am able to and it still wants more.

Thought I would do more road course than strip, but it turns out the inverse is true.

The “why I got the 1 le option”

Well in my case it was late 2019 end of November and as you know the 2019 front end was not loved by Camaro owners. Mind you the 1LE in my opinion looks pretty good. This Camaro had sat in there lot and perhaps not many people where bold enough to buy the SHOCK 1LE. They basically reduced the MSRP to include the 1LE package for free, I jumped at their offer not mine. I had a 2SS before and the 1LE handles amazing. I originally was going to buy a LT1 and convert it into a drag car but the 1LE now sits as a dual purpose track car, drag or track.

I will probably never see a track, but the overall look of the car with this package is just awesome looking.

Didn't but wished I would have.
Wasn't familiar enough with the 1le when I bought back in 18. 2 years later I was kicking myself.

I'm happy with what I have now but next time around I'll do things differently.

I choose I race professionally and needed it. I'm not a professional but I did 39 track days on my previous GEN5 1LE. My '22 SS 1LE will be on track too. The SS 1LE is the best bang for the buck if someone wants a track ready, fast and competent automobile.

I bought my 1LE because it is the best bang for the buck/value in a performance car out there for under $50K.

A big part of how I judge cars is the rubber that is put on them, in terms of the width. If it's real skinny for the weight, I just figure it's not really a serious car for handling/etc. Obviously the 1LE takes it more to the extreme, but that's the good side of extreme IMO. You don't need to "professionally" race to enjoy a car that has enough grip. There are plenty of situations where you can enjoy it. And yes, it is a hoot to race.

Another perspective is, especially in 2SS, it's the ZL1 minus the supercharger.
