Need help with Whipple throwing belts

Just installed a whipple on my 2018 ss. This has been a nightmare to say the least. Missing parts, tech department worthless, and holes not tapped. Anywho, hoping someone can chime in and help.

I was watching TacticalGarage and he mentioned the 10mm step washer that Whipple states in the instructions goes on the outside face of pulleys, he says they go behind pulleys? So which is it?

As far as tightening the belt as mine just flew off and chewed up my belt. Whats the proper procedure? I put breaker bar in the factory(Whipple) tensioner and crank to the max, get the belt on the grooved sliding idler pulley, but how do you pull the grooved sliding idler pulley back and tighten? The grooved sliding idler pulley also looks like it is closer to engine than the rest (see picture). Also, if I put the Auto T nut as shown on the diagram, I can't even get close to getting belt on with max strain off the belt?

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks guys

Thank goodness!

I almost pulled the trigger on a Whipple and now glad I didn't. I've read several comments concerning quality of the kit and now your's.

I bought an Edelbrock eForce 2650 which is sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. I'm hoping to start on it Tuesday next week.

Like someone said, it looks crooked. Have you put a straight edge across the accessories to make sure they are all lined up? Easy way to check for crooked and out of line stuff when it comes to accessory drives.4

I went and bought one this afternoon but haven't checked it yet. I am frustrated and exhausted. Going in the morning to pickup new belt and figured I would check then after a good night sleep.

Looks like its cocked to the driver side and sticking out more on the passenger side to me.

Drink a beer get some sleep, check it out in the morning. Probably something stupid or overlooked.

UPDATE:
Put the step washers on back of pulleys. Took straight edge and made sure all pulleys where level. Put new belt on. Tightened the hell out of it. Hasn't thrown a belt after several hard pulls (Knock on Wood).

When I first got my Whipple installed I had a similar issue. The tensioner pulley slid on the bearing and was rubbing the tensioner arm and it threw the belt. Whipple sent me a revised pulley that had a snap ring in place to keep the pulley from moving on the bearing. No issues in 5k miles. The Whipple overall is a solid supercharger.

I can tell you from past/present experience that NO system out there is flawless. You will likely run into a initial hiccup anytime you mod. That is the life of aftermarket performance.

Enjoy your new found power!
