Kinda makes you want to drive a 1981 Olds Delta 88. No big brother!

Big data provides all manner of potential benefits to consumers, but also no end of potential liabilities - especially when you're not as big as a Facebook or a Google where you can afford to think out the potential ramifications of providing a service using/abusing that data.

Unlike Facebook or Google, I don't see any business case for Blackvue to have done this deliberately for their own benefit, so more likely it's an honest - but definitely and negatively consequential, for users - mistake. Like was said in Jurassic Park, their developers were so busy trying to see if they could provide those features that they didn't think about whether they should - certainly without developing some good controls on access to that data.

Privacy, this is the the reason I went into the onstar box and took out the smaller of the two boards that report your GPS position. Apple play works fine for maps/nav.

Seems everyone wants to know where you are.
