I loved them on my '00 Z28, but the torsional rigidity on that car was terrible compared to the 6th gen coupe. I always wondered about the torsional stiffness between the hardtop and t-top 4th gens.

I had an '01 SS with T-tops. No leaks after 235,000 miles. Loved the look on that body style but I just never took them off that often.

For FMVSS requirements a targa is under convertible requirements. The center structure of t-tops make it a coupe which has far more stringent requirements. Roof crush and side impact are very tough to meet with a t-top. So much so you might not like the result.......which is why they are gone into the history books of automobilia

When I bought my car, I would have considered a targa top. T-tops are less practical, but I can understand why you might want one on a Camaro.

Ahhh the good old days. Had T-tops on my 84 and 89 Camaros. I was way cooler back then. Never had a leak problem with either of them.

to me t-tops are the best... i personally love 3rd gens and have many of them and for me the open feeling of driving with the t-tops off is fantastic. even with them on it still gives a very open feel with great light and visibility

different people like different things and there are always trade-offs to consider... however i can say that if t-tops had been an option on the 5th gen i am sure i would have bought at least one of them
