That's interesting. I went to dealer last night to order a 21 and it wouldn't let him submit. Maybe orders are closed for 21?

4/8/21 is the last order cycle for 2021 Camaros.

It all depends on whether or not your dealer has an allocation for a Camaro from GM. Before Covid, we as dealers could submit a SOLD ORDER and it would likely get picked up and built by GM whether we had an allocation or not. This is not the case now.

A dealer can put in a a preliminary order but they can't place that order unless they have an allocation. Shipping times are all over the place. Currently waiting on a 1LE that has been sitting in Ohio at a distribution center since mid January. You just never know when someone that's in charge of shipping will drop the ball.

This happens to us at least a couple of times per year on Camaro where it takes 2-3 months for them to ship the car after it is built.

As in order submission or build out?
I dunno when he put the options I want together it said he had to choose a specific option to accept destination charge but that option was grayed out and he couldn't tick it.
He tried to call his gm rep but she didn't answer.

I followed up with my dealer and he said can place new order on 4/8 but it will be a 2022. He said wait there could be some color changes and other updates.

EDIT: Quick update for those following this thread on how long it takes to order a Camaro: My ZL1 was delivered late on Tuesday, 3/16, and I picked it up on 3/17 after the post delivery service. So, quick summary: Order placed into GM 12/22/2020, order delivered late on 3/16/21 - exactly 12 weeks (my dealer quoted me 8-12 weeks). I actually ordered it with my dealer on 12/21, and picked it up 3/17, so total time for ME was 12 weeks and 2 days.

That said, all of the chip shortages and the plant closure throw the time frame I received out of the window temporarily...I'm glad I ordered when I did, and didn't wait.

Mine was ordered Jan. 6th, built 2/10 and delivered 2/25......
Pretty sure I'm an exception to the rule and boy did it mess my plans up for a week lol

After 5 1/2 weeks at Roush mine is now back at Grand River. Hopefully for delivery to my dealer. NOT a fast process. Has anyone here mentioned the shortage of computer chips holding up vehicles in general?

Then unloaded and delivered to the dealer.

My ZL1 took exactly a month from the time it was transferred to the Toledo, OH railyard to actually be delivered to my local dealer in Idaho. Don't hold your breath, but I'm guessing MI to Atlanta won't take as long MI to OH to UT and finally to ID...

I just took possession of mine yesterday.

If the plant is shut down until the end of March anyway, seems like a 2022 order will be the way to go.
Curious to see about any new colors.
