What GM ignored is that Doug has 2 million subscribers and before he had his youtube channel he was a distribution manager for Porsche North America. He may be young but he's an intelligent and credible automotive journalist.
Not only that (he actually has 3.62M subscribers as of today), he routinely garners 2M+ views on nearly every Camaro or Corvette video he made, 2.4M on his ZL1 review, 3.7M on the ZR1. So, whether or not one likes his review methodology and his delivery, brushing him aside like this is a major blunder IMO.

Going a bit off-topic, I think his review is a bit more towards daily driving cars, which I think that's why there are many views, but for performance, there are better sources to watch.

His voice and the way he delivers his lines... Not a fan of them. The Doug Score is also kinda dumb IMO.

But yeah, no idea why GM would want to brush him aside. At the end of the day, he is still a YouTube personality.

People think it can't or won't happen, but the Corvette will go away as well. Unless a full electric model is made. And soon. ICE vehicle production in general will begin to seriously decline. And the tax to drive those still available will be for only the wealthy.

We are quickly heading for a completely different world.

I think we will still have ICE vehicles they will just end up being equipped with Hybrids for a while until the full conversion over to electric.

Yes most likely a hybrid variant until it's not needed. When battery technology is improved to near ICE range and recharge/refill time. Which it will. We already know an all electric sedan can be faster than a C8. So performance isn't an issue.

ICE vehicles will go away because the manufacturers have made a deal with legislators to cram Electrons down your throat. It won't be very long until the masses start finding out the truth about batteries and pollution and parts purchasing after the fact. Wait until you pay per mile driven or they force you to pay extra for pates on your electric. It's coming. The globalist cabal will force you into a commuter or an electric one way or another.
So far as the Camaro is concerned just take a look at the Aztek. As a matter of fact they killed off Pontiac instead of Buick, the most boring brand on the highway for over 20 years. That is Mary Barra's GM. She is killing GM.

Well it depends on the election recently from 2018-2019 only Ford Honda and a couple others agreed to California's polices on stricter emissions. Toyota, FCA, GM, Subaru and the others decided to side with Trump on holding back on tougher emissions and to have them done at the federal level and not by California. While I agree that Electric vehicles are probably inevitable we probably still have time before then and it depends on how the election goes. Hybrids are probably going to be more of a thing with V8s like Ram's new Etorque system. Here is a couple articles of many about this topic. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-a...-idUSKBN1X728Y

A lot wrong with this post.

Pontiac died due to lack of unique products, just like Oldsmobile before it. Buick lives simply because the brand makes a crap ton of money in China. Having it survive here is just a throw in. And my LaCrosse is an outstanding car, btw.

Not sure any connection between Aztek and Camaro. Maybe you could elaborate.

As for some secret side deal? That's just conspiracy thinking. ICEs will be around for a lonnnng, longgggg time. But if there is any kind of "deal" going on, you have to look at CARB. They are mandating that you have to have xx number of zero emissions cars in order to sell anything, including hugely profitable Full Size Trucks. So GM buys credits from Tesla, which in turn keeps them afloat with a $1,000 per share.

And why would you think you get to drive an EV on the roads for free? You pay taxes per gallon of gas for road maintenance with your ICE. So you will need to pay for that with your EV as well. That's just common sense. How they do it is another question.

ICE will be around for a long time still simply because the infrastructure in the country isn't ready to support just electric vehicles, not everyone will be able to have a charging station in their garage/house. What about all the people that live in condos, apartments, in cities with street parking or parking garages.

I mean, are oil companies any better?

If you want to have a conspiracy, have it both ways.

I work at one, and I have met the higherups and wouldn't you know it, they are all lizard people!

The only advertising I see for Camaros is literally the on-track product that is the ZL1 1LE in the NASCAR Cup Series and the SS in the Xfinity series. No commericals. No print ads. Nothing. This is why Ford will keep selling and producing Mustangs and the Camaro has a high chance of dying in the next 2-3 years.

Again, it's gonna take a lot more than commercials to turn things around. Sometimes you need to be on the outside looking in to see things clearly.
