I have ZL1 Addons rock guards. I'd like to think they help to some extent.
But these 1LE tires are so sticky, they pick everything up.
I still got some rock chips on the rear quarter panels after installing rock guards.

Like other said, I think PPF is our best option..

Here is a really good deal for GM satin black 1LE rocker skirts.

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...9#post11066149

I did mud guards on my 16 and rocker skirts on my 18. The rocker skirts work better at preventing chips on the side and in front of the rear wheels.

I intended to install these on my 20 but ended up putting Xpel paint protection film on the entire side

I have a brief update with my rock guard (RPI Designs)and side skirt (EOS) experience:

I'd say they are working well. I have no sand-blasting or rock chips along the doors or fender flairs. Also minimal rubber streaks from tire debris while driving on track.

The only "problem" I've seen (if you can call it that), is having the front rock guard touch the ground occasionally during track events. When I go through Hog Pen at VIR and the suspension compresses (down-hill right hander), the left front rock guard scrapes the ground. It's been slowly having part of it's bottom edge ground away just a little. But soon it will be "self-leveled" and I won't have it hitting any more. I purposely chose rock guards that hang down lower (RPI Design are longer than Chevy and ACS composites) so they would offer max protection, so the scraping issue at VIR may be unique to my SS 1LE.

I’ve been considering the fender flaps myself. At only $100 I can live with that, just wondering what it really looks like in person. Is it bad?

Just as another data point, C7 Carbon's ZL1 style side skirts are a near perfect fit for my 2018 SS, see below. They are more expensive, but fitment is certainly not a problem.

I'm not a fan of the hollow bottom that is shared by practically all aftermarket SS side skirts, but mounting would be near impossible with a solid part, so I give it a pass on that (side skirts on the ZL1 are integrated with the rockers).

The GM ones are in two parts that are fused together with structural urethane. The mounting flange is riveted (25) to the rocker panel. The outer cover attached with clips and structural urethane that end up forming a beam.

The GM ones on my 18 Hot Wheels were solid.

The nice thing about these is that even the rocker panels are plastic and held on with clips. Nothing will rust and you could pop off the rocker and snap new ones on if you want to do something else later.

I put the C7 ones on myself and they are fantastic. Fit is great, they stay on great, etc. I also put the spash/mud guards on. I feel these two mods help immensely with spray and stuff that gets kicked up. On my stinger I recently bought it rained the next day and I had all kinds of stuff being thrown right behind the wheels. Installed side skirts and mud guards there too and the next time it rained the difference was dramatic.

I have zl1 addons rock guards and EOS side skirts. I’ve had 20+ track sessions and 6k total miles. Both sides of my car are nearly unmarked. I think the rock guards provided the majority of the protection and they’re not unsightly, at least not to me anyway.

The EOS side skirts are “hollow” as mentioned above. I’ll be swapping them out for OE soon. I wish I did that from the start. Would’ve save me time and money.

This is super interesting, thanks a lot for the info
