My trans temps were not affected by the issue. And yes the A8 temps stay very cool until you drive it hard.

So that would seem to rule out fluid not making into the TC, since it would definitely generate heat. So the issue might be some kind of contamination of the fluid and the longer you live with it the worse the damage to the TC. Has to be some kind of material left over from the build process.

Turned it in today. They called and will be replacing the TC tomorrow. No issues, just straight to it. I also asked if the red flaking paint on the engine covers would be a warranty issue. They are ordering two of them at no cost to me. Should have it back by Friday. Fingers crossed but a good experience so far.

My dealer is giving me issues to even flush the transmission even after giving them the tsb. They programmed the tcm and gave it back to me. Drives exactly the same. Going to try a different dealership 2maro

This is an issue with 16 and 17 Camaro A8s?...or has this issue been mostly eliminated with the 17s?

I've never found a reason for why a triple flush, filter change, and TCM flash fixed the issue.

I THINK based on no information, that clutch material from inside the TC somehow clogs up the filter and/or contaminates the fluid, reducing flow and hindering the properties of the transmission fluid. If fixed soon enough the TC material is done wearing off after break in (in high volume) and flushing it all out and changing the filter fixes it. Again this is my ASSUMPTION based on my knowledge of cars over the years. It would be nice to have a real explanation from GM.

I'm not too far from them so I contacted them and let them know my concerns with my car. Upon asking if they have heard of this issue or dealt with it they said no. You wouldn't happen to remember the individual you talked to about this would you?

My 16 just started doing this today. Goes in Thursday. I thought one of my wheels was coming off.

My '17 has this issue. Started early last week. My car currently has 3150 miles. I guess I will take it in to the dealer and see what they can do for me.

Got mine back last night. Issue resolved. They replaced the TC. Also replaced the engine hood covers. Didn't drop a penny on any of it. That felt good.

I am having the same issue. I took the car to the dealer and the service supervisor told me that I have an "Aftermarket Exhaust" and that this is what is causing the problem. He also tried to scared me saying that having such an exhaust voids my warranty which I know is not true, what I have is a Borla axle back. Then he told me that he was not going to report that I have an aftermarket exhaust, that if i wanted to get the car fix I needed to put the factory exhaust on. What should I do about this guys?
