22 2SS 1LE Whirring/Roaring sound
Hello everybody, pretty concerned about this noise Im getting from my SS. She has 8,700 miles and only mod is the Eibach pro kit lowering springs installed by the one prior owner. Initial thought was it was the worn rear tires, got those replaced and noise persisted. Took her in to the dealer today, tech thought it was the front driver wheel bearing which they replaced and noise still persisted. Theyre going to look into it over the weekend and possibly also try replacing the front passenger side wheel bearing and see if that fixes it.
Link to video with the sound clip: https://youtu.be/HPXTd6N3dcI I wanted to get you alls opinion and see if anyone has dealt with this or something similar and can guide me to the right solution. The sound starts about 5 seconds into the video. The sound is most pronounced from about 27 MPH to about 39 MPH. |

Did you check the alignment?

I listened to the clip and that really might be the tires. I've had tires go bad over time (on other vehicles) and make noise like that. Alignment may be a contributing factor that caused the sound, but I'd suspect at this point, the sound will persist even with correct alignment.
Easiest way to rule out tires is swap wheels and tires with another car if possible. |

Check the inner edge of the front tires and see if they are cupped.
Both sets of Goodyears did this at about 9-10k miles each, the Continental Extreme Contacts did it at about 30k miles. Alignment is good, been done twice. I've seen ZL1 tires online with the same wear pattern.

Confirmed it was the front tires making the sound. Sound is gone after getting new front tires. Thank you to everyone who responded!

Mine sounded like a Jeep Wrangler with mudders going down the road.
