To my knowledge yes. I believe it was when he lapped it in a 3 way head to head against the 911 and F12. I'm almost certain that the 1LE is ahead of the Z51 due to the wider stickier tires that its running. I'm sure the e-diff and ptm is incrementally improved as well since its the latest version.

Are there GT350 (non R) times for Pobst at Laguna? I thought there was, but Google is failing me.

EDIT: Seems at the Best Drivers Car testing Pobst ran a 1:38.3 in the C7 Z51...so maybe a 1:38.2 or 1:38.1 for the SS 1LE?

Correct the Z/28 ran a 1:37.82

No GT350 times to my knowledge. Only a GT350R in the comparison with the Z/28 on another track. We'll see what the GT350R does this year as its also in the competition. I do not know its lap time.

It this the normal Motor Trend Oct issue coming out on the news stand now, or a special once a year issue ?

Thanks Dale

MT Results

4th place overall, pretty awesome for $45K . Wish it had lower gears or closer ratios in the trans though. Maybe I will have to do a rear end update some day.

Looks like the car can be ordered sometime in Oct.

Cheers

Hi Mjk

I have the identical Summit White SS1LE on order as of a week ago. I'm at 3000 as of Oct 11th. Hopefully they don't get stalled with any back ordered parts like my C7 Z51 did.

Cheers........ Dale in Yerington NV

Looks like the paint on these calipers won't hold up under extreme temps.

Looks pretty typical to me!

A little bit of discoloration, maybe some texture....it means you're doing it right!

In the CTS-V world, the guys that road race consider it a badge of honor that their factory Silver Brembos are now Burnt Bronze Brembos.

Is it just me or is the paint messed up right next to the bleeder screw?

Brake fluid melts paint...they probably change the fluid out a lot on that car

If it's even just an occasional track car, bleeding at least the dirty fluid out should be part of the preparation for each event. Plus, I've heard/read where sometimes tiny amounts of fluid can weep out when everything down there gets really hot. Not something you'd expect from a purely street driving basis.

There will be fluid still residing within the bleeder after you close it. You must remove that fluid, either by blowing it out with Brakleen or sucking it out. If you do not remove it it will cause troubles in the future by corroding the bleeder making it difficult to remove, even to the point of breaking the bleeder. There will also be fluid within the threads, Brakleem helps here also. I believe this is what you are seeing in the above picture.
