Recently sold my 1LE, need a new one.

How long does it take to arrive if I order and 2SS 1LE from the dealer?

I just recently sold my 2018 for various reasons thinking I could get into a new one but it has been close to impossible to get a deal on a newer one. The scarcity of the model has made the dealers less willing to negotiate and are asking for full price.

I bought my 2018 2SS 1LE new for $45K OTD. While I would love to get a similar deal, I know it will be impossible, so if I am going to pay more for a newer one, it will have at least to be the exact one I want. I am thinking about ordering a 2022 but If it is going to take 6 months, I may have to pass on it.

I am currently sharing a car with the wife but I hate having to depend on her. I may have to go for another route. Any advice out there? What do you think would be a good alternative?

Gonna pay out the nose for used right now. Plant scheduled to reopen by the 26th due to chip shortage. possibly 1 week earlier.

Ordering will be hit or miss till things settle out. Buy a beater with a heater for a few mths and wait it out a bit would be my advice

When I ordered my ZLE it took about three months. This chip shortage is a serious problem. And what I have been reading isn’t good. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess the plant closure ends up being longer. I hope I’m wrong. But some stuff I’ve been reading about doesn’t look good for not just the auto industry but many many others. I hope the plant opens soon. I know people are waiting for their vehicles and these cars are awesome performers so right now these people are missing out on some good driving times.

They're taking orders for 22's and start production like Jun or Jul so you'll be waiting awhile aside from chip shortages and the line currently shut down.

Right now in Fla the market is pretty tight for any variant of the 1LE

The VROOM guys have a used one but it does have some imperfections...

Set up a search on carguru there are a couple on there that are out of state and shipping is around 1K... good luck.

TBH buying any car right now is a pretty bad deal. Used car market is super inflated making dealers not motivated to lower new car prices.

That was my experience with new car prices when I tried to negotiate a deal for my order 8 weeks ago, they weren't willing to haggle off MSRP.

When the factory was rolling with no chip shortages late last year, I ordered mine on July 27th and it was delivered to the dealer September 28th. Right at 8 weeks. Not a bad time frame for a special order in my opinion.

I would suggest the SoFlo (Miami) area for 1LE deals, I could generally find good ones ($7k off msrp) by the end of the year and they favor volume, but the market in general is whack

Yep, IME, any order usually takes at least a few months in my experience. Didn't matter if it was BMW or Chevrolet.

It also allows the dealer to charge more/have less discounts, because they are not trying to get rid of something they already bought.
