I redid my setup with the current leather knee pads. Bought a spare passenger side knee pad off eBay for a few bucks. And then took black ABS plastic and trimmed it to fit the knee pad to allow a smooth surface for the Garmin suction cup to adhere to. I then used two-way tape to hold the ABS plastic to the knee pad. Two-way tape will not leave residue but it will leave an impression that is why I have spare and I strictly run the spare with the Garmin setup since it just clips in.
