My dad being a comedian.

To make us park a mile away from the entrance.

It’s a continuing aggravation. You park far away, and some doofus not only parks next to you but does so at an angle. Spitting or urinating on their door handle gives me some satisfaction.

Ugh, my nephew has done this with his motorcycle a couple times. I feel your pain. Park that mower in the grass... on the far side of the driveway :P

Only thing you can do it park with a physical barrier on one side where it is the most inconvenient location for anyone else to also park to

This happened to me recently. I parked pretty far out there at the Grocery store and somebody in a rusted out Subaru parked right next to me, and not only that, they were way over the line crooked closer to my car. The parking lot was 80% empty so there was zero reason for it. No dings or scratches on my car but had there been I would have been waiting for them when they came back out.

People suck.

People will intentionally park close if they see a nice car parked far away on its own, to be jerks.

Because of this, I try to park away, but not obviously way out. By a barrier on one side if I can. This way, I lessen my chances of being a target.

In 15 years or so, only one door ding. Not shabby.

I always try to park as far away as possible from the "crowd". If its not possible to park away, I will go to another lot or street lol.

I've had people park next to me as well...even when I am off in the boonies. If I ever find as much as a fingerprint on my car in that case, I can guarantee I will be waiting for the owner to return.

People will do it on purpose simply to F*&^ with you. Some people get a kick out of it. My wife told me this just the other day... She was at the store parking in the back of a lot. She was still in the car when this dick pulls next to her in a big truck, so she put her car in drive and pulled over to the next isle. When she got out of her car, this guys starts to scream at her (in front of his wife and kid). The dude was lucky I was not in the car with my wife. Some people are simply just dicks...!

Same thing happened to me the other night.

Someone should write a psychology thesis about this, it baffles me completely. Do they subconsciously want to rub against someone else in the "herd"? Don't they realize there must be a reason we park at a distance from all other cars, and it probably isn't to "invite" a "new neighbor" when returning to the car? Or do they simply want to mess with us because our cars look good?

I had to make that joke:

One of the vehicles in this photo is loud, will garner attention when you drive it on the road, but lacks practicality.

The other is a Camaro.

I saw a meme somewhere before that compared this behaviour to the guy that uses the urinal next to you despite all the other urinals being unoccupied.

Nothing new to me. Happens just about every time I park somewhere. I try to park in BFE and still some jack wagon finds my ZL1 and parks next to it.
