Internals and options.

Hey everyone going to post everything I have on the car but main things is I want to do internals and a cam setup for my procharger. I plan to keep building this car further and further after each time I do something. So it’s currently at 770 and I’m about to head to my dyno/tuner for a update since my previous upgrades.(headers, Im, dual nozzles added recent)

I’m looking for a few options and thoughts one pistons and rods. Callies Ultra H-Beam Rods U16300 These are the rods I’m thinking cause they are rated to 1500. Also looking at gpi package and doing there piston that use from what I’ve found they are good for 2k but not 100% sure on that. I have yet to decide on which cam to go with or company and I will always consider a custom grind but still need a company to choose.

Don’t want to do a short block build yet just want to go this route for now. Fuel will be upgraded when if if I up the boost anytime soon.

Thanks in advance

The GPI pistons and rods looked to be very robust, day & night versus OEM. I’m still dialing mine in, will be fuel limited this year, but will find out next year how much abuse they can really take.

I’d suggest calling CamMotion and getting a cam specified for what you want to do with the car. Turnaround time for mine was very reasonable.

I understand this that’s why I’m asking and there kits rods won’t support what I want to do. Btw I can ask a shop but don’t like ppl working on my stuff or paying labor when I’m fully capable to do my own work.

How much power you looking to make? The Gpi setup is pretty robust and not very expensive either. Now i wouldn't run them past 1000 to the tire but anything below that Id have no problems using them.

Perhaps you should state your power goals? The GPI combo will support 99% of most enthusiasts goals and that is why Josh recommended it. I am sure if you call GPI they have something for you.

Would assume by saying 1500 and 2000 rating would mean I plan to go past 1k. I’m close to being over 800 prior to my new mods and plan to up the boost. Just reaching out to see what everyone’s that’s over 1k has done.

If your going that far might as well do a full short block build.

I could but I don’t feel like it.

If you are planning on going over 1000whp then you should consider a main stud kit. I wouldn't consider anything drop in either...So advice above about doing a full short block build is spot on.

To me when someone says full short block I’m thinking literally a new motor any from what I’ve understood these are robust motors unless hurt prior and that goes for the crank also. Obviously you want to change out other stuff including oil pump and what not. But I wasn’t planing on doing a drop in and that would require pulling everything and rebalancing if I need a new crank though I’m going to possibly go 416. So really looking for info and not just slight half assed just do this which for me is lazy thinking that’s why I’m asking the question and not just buying a motor.

After 1000 I wouldn't leave anything stock in there even the crankshaft so your going to need everything pulled and balanced anyways. On top of that your going to want the thrust bearing changed/modified. So again just look at the top motor vendors and pick out a short block to your liking and have at it.

Maybe he wants a really expensive boat anchor?

At any rate, I am going with the crowd. 1000+ isn't the world stock parts like to live long at. And I sure as hell wouldn't spend money on a motor with a weak spot and risk throwing it all away.

Get ALL the right parts, machine the block, and assemble the short yourself, if you want.

Frakenmotors do not live long at high HP loads.
