Dumb move by VA Governor, and good news for Envision. Each facility costs ~$1B to build and employs around 2,000 workers with base salaries @ $40hr. That’s $160M in consumer buying power coming to a town near you……..or not. Maybe the Carrier facility in Ohio will re-open as promised? LOL Kool-aid drinkers.

Not woke, just want the jobs for these communities. How many workers in Mexico said we don’t want those ‘Merican jobs and dollars. Love that BMW, Volvo, Daimler Trucks all brought jobs to SC. Don’t care if they’re from Germany or China. Same for Kia in Alabama and Georgia.

So I'll ask a naive question:

If a foreign company is happy to build a plant in the US and employ US workers, with profits going overseas..... Why can't we build the same plant in the same place under American ownership with the profits remaining here in the US?

Is the issue that US entrepreneurs don't have the money to invest in plant construction/or can't borrow the capital?

I guess me. I don’t want that job. Yeah! I got the new Ford job at the EV plant! I mean it’s run by a Chinese company but the name says Ford. But doesn’t the Communist Party really run that company? But the name says Ford. Oh the communists own that technology? But it still says Ford. My hard work gets me a paycheck from Ford right? Only foreign owned grocery store of any consequence I know of is Food Lion.

If a foreign company will pay $1B to build a plant, employ 2,000 workers at a living wage and pays their taxes? Well call me smitten.

I don’t fear a country that can’t innovate, has declining population and a dim future. And I’ll gladly let them create jobs in my country to ensure more young people have an opportunity to go to college and continue the USA’s dominance on innovation.

As a Virginia resident I want a strong economy and jobs. Letting a Chinese company build a plant here would have allot of short-term benefits and makes the politicians look good. Shutting it down the plant hasn't helped the Governers reputation among many of his critics, but it is ABSOLUTLY critical to start putting America first and was defiantly the correct decision for our future. The Chinese companies will take government subsidies take out loans steal intellectual property and then move operations overseas without notice leaving tax payers and lenders footing the bill.

We went through this with one of Youngkin's predecessors. Terry Mccauliff gave a Chinese car company 1.4 billion dollars of OUR money only to have them take the money and disappear.
