Great job!
It looks similar to my project. My body shop will replace driver side strut tower and Apron on frame machine because it bent up & inwards 2 cm (~1 inch). Unfortunately everything is quite expensive here in Germany and all parts has to be imported from USA. It was good to see that the strut tower rivet direction is from aluminum to steel because this information is missing in the GM repair manual. Logically, rivet direction is from the weaker material into the stronger material. Which glue/silicone/foam did you use on the plenum panel (large black panel mounted on the firewall)? My was glued with some kind of foam but I can not find any information in GM repair manual which kind of. Oliver |

Took it to the dealer to have the new ECU flashed. Had a litany of codes to deal with, and was unable to complete the crankshaft position learn sensor part of the process because of some of the codes. I knew I would get codes from not having rear O2 sensors, and I also had a code for the MAP sensor which I have not located yet. At least the car is running and can move under its own power |

Here’s a short clip my son made when I brought it back home:
https://youtu.be/SKipGRKaf-E Oil pressure is above 40 PSI, sounds to me like there’s definitely a cam in it. |

No idea, tried to contact the previous owner by mail after I found papers with his info in the car but never heard back. With the mods that were done I’m hoping they were informed enough to change the oil pump while they were in there. Can’t wait to get the 3” Borla S-type on it!

Thanks! More progress tonight. I was debating on leaving the hood white but after seeing it with all of the satin black pieces up front I think I’m going to wrap it. Might go with the 3M satin black instead of the OEM wrap.

Glad to here , will look very nice to add the Satin black wrap to the hood and low or no glare , when your son is racing. Again please keep me posted, I'll come out.

Thanks everyone. Got it to my garage condo where I have a lift to finish it out. Changed the oil, trans fluid and diff fluid and getting ready to do the exhaust.
I have to say I love the trailer I picked up a few weeks ago, so easy to load and unload. Last edited by Sephx1; 01-29-2023 at 03:21 PM. |
