As long as your 16+ vehicle is under the B2B warranty then the Android Auto / Apple Carplay update is free. Any dealer that tells you otherwise is trying to make a fast buck. I would ask for the service manager right there and call GM customer care and open a case with them.
GM has sent out several notices that the update would be done free of charge by all dealers. |

Sure I'll pay $50 for the update. I'll get GM to pay me $50 back on each car payment for selling be a car without all the features working as promised.

Dealers charging for updates
Young Chevrolet in Dallas, TX wanted to charge me $125.00 for the update. My car is still under warranty. Told them I thought this was supposed to be a free update under warranty, they said they thought it should be too, but it wasn't covered.
So no Android Auto for me I guess. |
