ZL1 1LE 10SPEED FOR ROADCOURSE from a mustang owner

1min read
hello everyone. I'm new here.
I'm considering as my next track car the ZL1 1LE 10speed.
Why 10 speed?
I have now a stang 18pp1 10speed. (80% track 20%weekend)
So I'm familiar with this set up.
I'm tracking my car usually12-15 times a year. I'm doimg the MUSCLE CUP in California now.
Mustang performs well on track however I'm reaching the limit of what i can do with her. And also the overheat issues (especially with the 10 speed ) have been a problem.
I fixed them not after loosing a trans (warranty).
Although the car is freakin fast with paddle shifting and can hold the speed of a shelby.
Considering the ZL1 1LE for performance and the amount of coolers she has.

ANYONE here experience with 1Le 10speed on roadcourse?
Especially.
1. Downshifiting. Weird or fast (with rev match)?in my stang this is sometime awkward.
2. Upshifting without issues? (Sometime in my stang 5to6 is very hard
3. Overheat?
4. Reliability?

Please let me know.
I thank you in advance.

Go to the ZL1 discussions section to post your questions! There are a few members that do track their ZL1 1LE’s that maybe able to help you!

Rev match is terrible, I can only guess it's for people who are first-timers to manual transmissions

Well then I guess that wont apply to the OP since he is asking about a ZL1-1LE with the A10 automatic that also has the rev match feature.

Rev match works perfectly on my 17 SS 1LE, not every car is easy to rev match depending on pedal placement.

The Camaro has significant auxiliary cooling that your Mustang lacked (assuming you mean GT with a performance pack).

For SS 1LE and above (including ZL1):
-Oil cooler.
-Differential cooler.
-Transmission cooler.

Be curious what you are basing this on. I have a 2019 ZLE M6 and I've been driving manual cars exclusively since about 1997. I find the rev match feature absolutely amazing on the street and track.

With the Soler TB the car is plenty easy to heel-toe, but why even bother when the rev match is so good unless you just like to maintain your skills for cars without the feature.

Yeah, the active rev-match is very good. First I've ever heard of someone saying it's not...

I been driving manual for 15 years and the active rev match works perfectly. I thought I would never want to use it, but it's just the opposite.
