Wish they would all go to some open source platform. It's shocking to me that it's almost 2020 and I still can't manage my bittorrent downloads by voice while weaving through freeway traffic!

fyi, you will still get a ticket for playing with your phone while stopped at a light or for any other reason on roads in traffic.
android auto and android automotive will be forced to adhere to strict safety guidelines to keep people from doing things they're not really supposed to be doing. You can use voice commands to search for directions while driving or find someplace to put the car in park if you want to use the onscreen keyboard to type something in as well as have more access to the UI ....which is restricted when not in park. |

As cell phones exploded in popularity, there were actually plenty of studies done showing that using a phone in any manner while driving carried about the same risk as driving at the legal limit for alcohol intoxication, but we all love our phones too much. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16884056 Then there were studies that went further, showing that any conversation while driving was distracting and of the same risk! Oh, how I would love a law that made people shut up in my car! |

I have a device that does that. It's called an mrt exhaust system. I dare you to have a conversation the other person can hear when not stopped.
