AC off due to high engine temp.

Just looking for any input on this. I have searched several threads and still unclear on the cause. Thanks in advance.

Engine temp is sitting on C. But everything else looks fine, coolant levels look good.

Well I disconnected the ECM harness as someone stated in another thread. That did clear the issue and now my temp gauge and oil pressure gauge are reading correctly. I hope it was just a "glitch" and nothing serious. Still looking for any input if anyone has any ideas. Thanks again

Have you flashed the PCM recently? This is a common problem when using HP Tuners. Remedy is to wait 10-15 minutes after the flash to start the car. I believe it only applies to 2010s though.

Hopefully just a glitch then. I have heard of this happening a few times, but never had to deal with it other than when flashing my PCM, and that was an easy fix, so I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

hey, i do appreciate the input! i hope it was just a glitch. I have also read that it could be a coolant temp sensor, or possibly the thermostat.

Got that code on my 08 Silverado one night driving home from work.

Told me A/C was off due to high temp. Which was odd, since the truck was A/C delete.

Did the CEL illuminate? If so, did you pull a code? Was it a P0216 by any chance?
