Transmission Fluid Flush?

When I bought the car it was recommended that I have the transmission fluid flushed sometime around 20,000 miles. I'm currently at 19,500 and want to know what y'all think. Should I have it flushed or not?

According to the Owners Manual, manual transmission fluid should be changed every 45,000 miles. Page 341 in the 2017 version.

Also, if you're tracking the car at all, there's guidelines for how many hours of track use you're supposed to change fluid after. IIRC, my paper copy of the manual that came with my 2017 said 10 hrs in the Track and Competitive Driving section on p204, and the 2018 online manual says 15 hrs on p199.

I have 14k miles on my car, and I've changed the transmission fluid 2x. I've found that gearchanges get a bit notchy after lots of track time. The fluid that came out of my trans both times looked like new, but shift feel was immediatly noticably better with fresh fluid.

I've driven student SS 1LE's on track as well that felt really notchy (doubt they had been changed yet).

The transmission fluid is doing triple-duty in these cars. It a) lubricates the transmission, b) cools the transmission, and c) cools the differential.

Definitely a good idea to change fluid regularly...and you guys hit all the right notes:

-- If used on track: Change after 10-15 hours

-- If not: Change after 45,000 miles.

Royal purple Syncromax. is what I put in mine. felt a difference when I swapped out fluids. Then again, I'm at 4300 miles in the 2 years I owend it. Not a 1LE, but the same transmission.

What sealant (if any) did you use when putting the 6MT plugs back on?

My experience with my car is that it took probably 10k miles for the trans to feel decent when it shifted, I think it just took that long to break in.

I changed the fluid to RP SyncroMax at 2500 miles and it was a little better, but at 12k I switched to Amsoil ATF which was even better IMO.
