This makes me mad and almost wish you did a citizen's arrest.... But like others said, who knows, something like that might escalate to something much worse. We love oour cars, but truth is they are just material possessions. We will all get newer better cars in the future and this night will be a distant past and just a story that you will tell. As far as insurance goes, since it was not your fault, the premium rate shouldn't take a massive hit. My wife last year ****ed up and hit a parked car with our family vehicle. Did a full legit claim (police report and all), and the rate stayed exactly the same. This was her first claim ever. If you had priors, despite not being your fault, it might see a significant hike.

Sounds like your friend is the cause and should be the one to pay for the repairs. Tell him next time to be a tough guy in his own car.

I agree with having your friend pay.

Don't necessarily agree with getting rid of him, unless this is a pattern for him. Otherwise, I would not let a single rash decision in the heat of a moment be the basis of ending a friendship.

Hopefully, though, he has learned something that may prevent more dire consequences in the future for him.

Also to add onto this does anyone know of any good collision shops in NJ? South jersey, Galloway area!
Don’t know many good ones, but just avoid Bianco Auto Body like the plague.

Dont go to a bodyshop, find a PDR specialist first. The fenders are extremely thin, and a good PDR professional will have that out in no time for a couple hundred bucks. And I agree with the others, make your "friend" pay for the damage.

Auto body shop in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey
Address: 2710 Haddonfield Rd, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08110
Hours: Closed ⋅ Opens 9AM Mon
Phone: (267) 496-3895

Never hurts to give them a call, send a few pics of your car and get a estimate on paint less dent repair service. I had it done a few times on my Camaro and was worth every penny if you find the right place.

This does look like a candidate for PDR.
Here is a similar dent in a panel crease area being removed. Obviously a lot of skill involved.

I was also in A.C. last night. I rarely like to go there, but my family likes Angelo's. That city is basically praying for legalized weed to save them at this point.

This is what happens with two idiots involved...your friend for opening his mouth and the jerk who kicked your car! I would try PDR...and...let your friend pay! Maybe he will learn something from this!

Okay pause for one second, thats whats wrong with this world and your comment. 1. I didn't do anything, just driving when this dude decides to J-walk, putting his own safety in danger. 2. As I started moving I didn't realize what was going on and a car going 5 mph is an easy target for someone on foot to hit. 3. So its on me? Nah chill, that dude is a scumbag has complete disrespect for someone elses property and is honestly a whiney little bitch for getting offended and escalating something for the use of simple words from someone NOT in the drivers seat.

Thanks, I think this is the route I'm going to go. And he's a good guy he was just hammered, all last night and today he was apologizing and stuff and said whatever it costs he'll cover it. I'm not worried about it, I'm more so annoyed that this DB is probably still on his high horse.

I aggre totally that getting drunk and spouting off at the mouth is stupid. Jay walker and friend are acting very immature. With that said once someone escalates words to a physical response they open a whole new can of worms. Never touch me, my family or my property without an invitation. I don’t play that game and if you physically attack me or mine I won’t stop until the threating action has ceased.
