2016 Clutch Bleed?
Ok, I have been researching this and I am struggling.
I see all these pictures online of the TR6060 that we have in the 2016 Camaro and I see that they show the clutch pressure line sticking out the side of the case. But when I went under my 2016 SS I do not see this. the bell housing is SOLID! like this, Where is the bleeder on our trans? Is this why the guys racing these cars pull the trans out to do "reliability updates" by adding a bleeder? Any help will be appreciated.

Interesting...I mean there HAS to be a way to bleed the fluid if you swap it out? Is there a remote bleeder someplace maybe?

I wonder what they mean by this.
Another task completed was removing the T6060 transmission for standard race prep and durability and then reinstalling. https://theblock.com/news/wheel-whee...-tells-you-how

I was wondering if they changed the bellhousing so that they could bleed the thing!

any update on this ? I wonder if someone was able to bleed the clutch or install a remote bleeder. Is it true that there is no bleeder hole/plug?

Correct there is no bleeder cap on trans nowadays to my knowledge.
The process is swap the brake fluid entirely - clutch fluid & brake fluid share the same tank.... If ur clutch lever is light or limp <if you bleed the brakes manually & the fluid level drops to low & air gets into the system> the process to restore it is 1 - unscrew the brake fluid cap, leave it uncovered 2 - be sure the tank is full & no leaks under the car 3 - literally pump the clutch pedal 1-200 times it will eventually come back under pressure 3.5 - If it doesn't come back after a couple hundred pumps BLEED the furthest lines from the fluid tank , passenger rear brake caliper. Then start the process all over it'll come eventually |

I fabricated a custom cap for the clutch/brake fluid reservoir with a hookup for a vacuum pump. Then I just let the vacuum pump do the work.
I had to pump the clutch a couple times and I also gave the inline clutch valve a little shake (just above the clutch pedal). The air came right out. (I'm thinking the GM tech manual is where I got the idea. If I remember correctly it says to hook a vacuum pump to the reservoir.) |

Assuming it's the same Tremec 6060 as fifth gen, bleeder line is at the top, accessible by a small port on the driver side. I had to loosen the mounts to be able to reach with my hands at the time to install a remote bleeder. I also had to put my phone up there, and take pics to see how I can install the bleeder. Those cables with a camera (or fiber flass viewing devices) would help a lot.

Oh.. and the bleeder is there. It's just really hard to see and you have no chance of reaching it.
(I'm positive it's on the passenger side on the 6th Gen.) Last edited by travislambert; 03-04-2017 at 09:31 PM. |

From my build thread:
The pics are taken from the access port at the driver side, right by the tunnel heatshield, at the very top. Quote:
