NO the 5th gen is a rebirth of the Camaro, similar to the 1st gen. these t-tops were put on the crappy 3rd and 4th gen camaros.

Yes. put in pouch and attach the straps and tighten. Easy. I liked it better than the 4th gen holders because the bag didnt take up space like the holders do when you dont have the tops out.

Also the spare tire on a 4th gen was mounted in the side of the trunk. This would be a pain in the arse when trying to get to the battery or the spare/tire fill with the T's off.

I just think with the 5th gen design T-Tops would be way too much of a hassle.
Following this line of thinking, GM shouldn't make a convertible because with the top down it would be a pain trying to get to the battery or the spare.

Come on....that's ridiculous.

Storage could be an issue. However, you could easily have a nice looking, padded case with separate pouches (my '82 Monte had these pouches for cryin' out loud) that could strap in place. It would even allow the trunk to stay pretty much completely useful.

Now, you want a real storage problem....go with a Targa top instead.....it would be a lot harder to get that top into the trunk rather than two t-top panels.

And for those that don't want t-tops....don't get them. Just like those that don't like convertibles or don't like sunroofs, or didn't want the V8....don't get them.....but the options are there for those who do want them.

T-tops would look fine on the 5th Gen....numerous photoshops have shown that.....Chevy should make them an option.....I'll bet they sell like hot cakes.

In 1979 the entire car was pretty much junk so it's really a bad example.

I have the optional transparent roof panel on my 08 C6 coupe.
I've had it since Dec. 07 and have never taken the roof panel off.
I know it's easy to lift off (one person can do it) and store in the hatch area.
But I prefer to keep the windows up and let the automatic climate control do its thing.

After Market T-Tops pretty much suck

You want leaks, you want creaks, get an aftermarket T-Top.

I would have to agree. The only way I would get them would be from the factory. Know body will ever convince me that a car that was never designed for t-tops has the same structural integrity after a major part of the roof was cut away.

Hmmm, crappy 3rd gens eh?

I never had one problem with my t-tops, I take them off almost every single day in the summer.
