Camaro Smell 2019 2LT

I picked up a 2019 Camaro 2LT last April. Do all 6th gen Camaros smell the same? I noticed mine has a dank smell that is always there. Is that the adhesives or the leather, both or other materials causing this smell? I already changed the air cabin filter, sprayed Lysol in the hood recirculated the AC. I also did Ozone. Nothing gets rid of the inherent dank smell. Fyi, I was 2nd owner.

I think you bought a pothead's car. They're notorious for hiding the stash and forgetting where it is! Maybe there's an ounce under the center console

Take it to a professional detailer. They should be able to get the smell out.

I noticed the new car smell is different from anything I've ever had, or ever been in. Mine is a 1SS so it has cloth.

Oddly enough, sometimes it has a slight weed smell, other times if it was sitting in the sun for awhile it has an almost zoo animal smell.

Have never smelled anything like that at all in my 2SS (leather) or my Silverado ("cloth"), both of which I bought new. The Silverado is a 2015 and lives its life outdoors... The ONLY bad smell I've ever had in the truck is from when a mouse made a nest on top of the cabin air cleaner, had babies there, and then "left them" there...

I went the other day and smelled a 2018 with cloth seats, same smell. Your point around almost zoo animal smell is a good way of putting it especially after being parked in the sun.. It must have to do with the adhesives they use which is different from other GM products.

I have been chasing this for years. I bought my 2016 2SS brand new and have yet to find a way to negate this. I keep the car immaculate but sometimes, like mentioned above, getting into the car on a hot day is just gross. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Any chance you have a dead mouse somewhere? Last winter I was changing the oil on my daughters car and there was a mouse nest in the air filter in the intake

I believe it’s inherently built into the car literally. Not sure of a fix to actually remove the odor not mask the odor.

When I bought the car there was mouse droppings in the cabin filter. That smell went away after I put a new one in, but this is a different smell altogether. If you ever smelled an Audi or BMW those can smell like wax/crayons but light on the nose, not heavy. The smell in the Camaro is heavy dank casino smell sometimes in addition to smelling a zoo.

It's so weird. Glad I'm not the only one either lol. But yes, the hotter the car is, the more noticeable the smell gets. Mine is never smoked or eaten in, I rarely even have passengers.

Very odd like I said, never had a car smell this way. Going to try some air fresheners soon to see if that helps.
